Money Tips

Bring cash from Medellín. Guatapé has 2–3 ATMs (Bancolombia, Davivienda), but they can run out on busy weekends. El Peñol Rock entrance is cash-only.
Many restaurants are cash-only. Some accept Nequi (Colombia's Venmo equivalent), but don't count on card acceptance outside hotels.
Negotiate boat tours. Standard group boat rides are COP 25,000–35,000. If you have a group of 4+, you can often negotiate a private boat for COP 150,000–200,000 total.
